Lubuntu: This is Lighter Ubuntu, name it’self indicates it is less resource hungry and energy efficient OS.
Ubuntu JeOS: For Efficient Virtual appliances.
Ubuntu Mobile: An embedded OS for use on mobile devices.
Ubuntu Netbook Edition: Used for netbooks, it’s nowhere now from Ubuntu 11.04.
Ubuntu Server Edition: Entirely for Server class hardware and can be competitive with Redhat in near future.
XUbuntu: An official derivative of Ubuntu using Xfce.
Mythbuntu: It is based on Ubuntu and MythTV, providing apps for recording TV and acting as media center.
Ubuntu Studio: Best suited for Multimedia developers such as Graphics, Audio and Video.
Eeebuntu: Designed for Eee PC’s.
Fluxbuntu: Light weight and featuring the Fluxbox window manager.
Goobuntu: Internally used by Google and not available outside Google.
nUbuntu: Network Ubuntu available for Penetration testing.
PSUbuntu: Ubuntu distribution meant for PlayStation 3.

KNOPPIX 6.7: Knoppix is a bootable CD with a collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. Knoppix can be used as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Tiny Core Linux 3.8: Tiny Core Linux is a 10 MB graphical Linux desktop. It is based on the Linux 2.6 kernel, BusyBox, Tiny X, Fltk, and Flwm. The core runs entirely in memory and boots very quickly. The user has complete control over which applications and/or additional hardware to have supported, be it for a desktop, a nettop, an appliance or server; selectable from the project’s online repository. Gentoo Linux 11.2: Gentoo Linux is a versatile and fast, completely free Linux distribution geared towards developers and network professionals. Unlike other distros, Gentoo Linux has an advanced package management system called Portage. Portage is a true ports system in the tradition of BSD ports, but is Python-based and sports a number of advanced features including dependencies, fine-grained package management, “fake” (OpenBSD-style) installs, safe unmerging, system profiles, virtual packages, config file management, and more. Monomaxos 6.0: Monomaxos is an Ubuntu-based distribution whose purpose is to provide a complete out-of-the-box functional Linux operating system by including browser plugins, media codecs, support for DVD playback, Java, Flash and other components.
